The U.S.-backed Government of Iraq condemns Israel, something which they have also done repeatedly in the past. Iraq, like all Arab countries except Egypt and Jordan have a complete trade embargo with Israel and have no diplomatic relations.

I have previously highlighted how the Iraqi government condemned Denmark during the recent Muhammed cartoon crisis.

While condemning Israel and Denmark, Iraq have close ties with the government of Iran, praising it -i.e. Ayatollah Khamenei and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad- as a ”wise administration” and backing its nuclear program.

Is that what Americans ( 2577 and counting) are dying in Iraq to defend?
